OG Maco scored an out-of-left field viral hit in 2014 with the ridiculously simple "U Guessed It."
But he was never able to really capitalize on that.
Instead, he's been known more for drama: He's been accused of spreading AIDS and stealing and has accused Beyonce of stealing from him. He was also involved in a terrible car accident which cost him an eye and beefed with his label.
Now he's hanging up his mic.

He also addressed his retirement on IG Stories.
"This isn't coming from a bad place but after this year, I will no longer continue being OG Maco. I have given all I can give as OG Maco and I'm thankful for everything that you all have given me, but I want to be human again. I'm tired of being a product."
In a 2015 interview with The Hundreds, Maco admitted "You Guessed It" was "the dumbest shit I ever made."
"I can make a couple more “U Guessed It’s,” and I can make millions off of those,” Maco claimed. “But that was never what I wanted to do and that’s not what I want to push for all these kids who look up to me.”
Now it sounds like he won't be making any more music of any level of complexity.
