50 Cent's new "get the strap" catchphrase may have him in trouble with the law.
Yesterday, Fif did a (since deleted) Instagram post about former NYPD Deputy Inspector Emmanuel Gonzalez, who is accused of using the state liquor authority to shake down a club owner for tickets to Puerto Rico.
50 ended the post with "get the strap," as he's been ending all of his IG posts with that lately.
This triggered Gonzalez, who's now head of the 72nd Precinct in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
According to the New York Post:
The rapper’s apparent call to arms inspired a fusillade of threats from his followers — prompting Gonzalez to file a police complaint against Fitty.
Gonzalez “is annoyed, alarmed, and is in fear of his safety,” according to a criminal complaint filed with the 72nd Precinct that was obtained by The Post, which names the CO as a “complaining victim.”
“Comments included, but are not limited to, ‘Get the strap’ multiple times, [and] ‘F—k this commander has to get the strap ASAP,’ ” the complaint said.
50 Cent has reacted to the complaint by posting a screenshot of the article about it on IG with a mocking caption.
- "🤨oh shit, 😡get the strap. LOL. 🧐they investigating my drip, l got too much sauce. #HipHop," 50 captioned the post.
In other news, 50 Cent recently filed a trademark on the phrase "Get the strap."
