Nicki Minaj's debut album Pink Friday dropped just about seven years ago.
Nicki has some amazing features on the project -- Eminem, Kanye West, Drake, Rihanna and will.i.am -- especially for a first album.
But she didn't have a feature from Lil Wayne, who was her mentor and Young Money boss. She spoke on his absence from the album in an interview with Complex right after it dropped.
“He really hasn’t had any involvement on it. But to be honest, the album doesn’t sound like Wayne," she said in 2010. "I mean, he’s my biggest influence, but it doesn’t sound like Wayne’s stuff. It sounds like Nicki.”
In a new Instagram post she provides another crucial detail of why Wayne was off the project: He was locked up on gun charges.
Seven years later, how would you rate Pink Friday?
