Nicki Minaj's now-husband Kenny Petty has served seven years for manslaughter.
Before that, Petty, who was fifteen at the time, did a four-year bid for first degree attempted rape.
On today's episode of Queen Radio, Minaj claimed Petty was falsely accused of that crime, adding his accuser wanted to recant.
"And when the alleged accuser wrote a letter to the judge asking to recant the statements she was told that she would go to jail for 90 days, allegedly, if she recants the statement, "Nicki explained, adding Petty didn't have enough money for bail.
"Because when you are in the hood at 15, you don't have that kind of money and neither does your family,"
Minaj also addressed Wendy Williams, who is fond of bringing up the fact that Nicki is married to one convicted sex offender and has another convicted sex offender as a brother.
As for the testimony Petty's victim allegedly wanted to recant ... here's how it was explained in legal docs:
The female victim told police that on September 16, 1994 in Queens, NY, she was walking down the street when Petty came up behind her and “placed a hard circular object” against her back and “made a clicking sound.” The victim believed Petty had a handgun against her body, and he instructed her to “keep walking.”
The two walked to an address down the street, and she claims Petty forced her upstairs into his bedroom by pushing her from behind with what she believed to be a handgun.
Once inside Petty’s room, the victim claimed he “laid his weight on top … pinched her sides and squeezed her neck causing her to sustain bruises and pain.” She then claimed Petty “forced his penis” into her vagina.
The victim claims she tried to escape, but Petty “brandished a knife” and held it against her stomach, telling her “she could not leave.” The victim claims she eventually struck Petty with a plastic bottle and escaped.
