Nick Cannon's Label Exec Accuses Eminem Of Clout Chasing

Nick Cannon's NCredible Music Senior Vice President and right-hand man Chuck Kelly told HipHopDX that Nick and his team were "shocked" Eminem mentioned Nick and Nick's ex-wife Mariah Carey in Fat Joe's track "Lord Above."

Nick has since fired back at Em with three diss tracks. According to Kelly, they still have no idea why Eminem rekindled his beef with Cannon on "Lord Above," suggesting the 47-year-old was clout chasing.

People keep accusing Nick of clout chasing and that he’s doing it for attention.  I don’t understand how that’s even possible, like how can even get more attention? He’s on television and the radio every day. The Masked Singer is No 1. It really isn’t that. And for 10 years, he didn’t say anything. He just minded his business. He pretty much let it go, and for Em to bring it back up —  who’s the one clout chasing? Is it because Nick is visible everywhere? Is it because Mariah has another No. 1 song? We don’t know where it came from," Kelly said, adding he's annoyed that some people think Nick rekindled the beef, when it was really Shady.

Of course, Em's Stan's will take great exception to this characterization. It was Nick with Eminem's name in his mouth earlier this year when he suggested he almost beat Em's a$$ for his decade-old Mariah comments.

Em's bars on "Lord Above" seemed to be in direct response to Nick's tough-guy act.

"I know me and Mariah didn't end on a high note
But that other dude's whipped, that pussy got him neutered
