J Cole has a history of reaching out to troubled younger rappers.
However, when he tried to provide some guidance to NBA Younboy, YB left him waiting at the studio for eight hours.
Here's what DJ Akademiks said went down:
"J. Cole waited for eight hours in the studio for YoungBoy to show up. YoungBoy didn't show up. Facts. These are facts ... But let me be fair to YoungBoy," Ak said, and explained that YB thought his energy was off and he didn't want to record.
"It wasn't about J. Cole, it's about what he was personally going through [being] not fit to be in that environment," Ak continued. Now of course he's not the person who's going to be courtious and say, 'Hey J. Cole I'm not going to make it tonight.' "
During YB's new chat with Ak, he called cap on that report by basically confirming the report.
"They lied and said I stood J. Cole up, man," YoungBoy explained. "They lied and said I wouldn't go to the studio with him. I know who told somebody that too, though. Because it was only a few people who knew about that and that wasn't even the case. I was mad at that moment, I was going through something, so what the f*ck I'm gonna go in this man's studio session for a meet-up with him knowing that I ain't in the mood to talk or in the mood to, you know, f*ck around. They were saying YB acting like a bitch or something, but what the f*ck, I'm gonna go around this man for if I know I ain't in the mood to talk to nobody or sit down and even be around somebody."
