NBA Lil Pap, who's down with NBA Youngboy, was indicted on murder charges Thursday, Jan. 7 for the 2017 shooting death of Baton Rouge rapper Gee Money. Pap, who's real name is Deandre Fields, was arrested for the shooting in 2019 and is accused of killing Gee Money outside of his recording studio.
According to the arrest warrant, Gee Money, real name Garrett Burton, dissed NBA Youngboy's sister in a song, which Youngboy responded to on social media. Then during a 2017 interview on SayCheeseTV, Gee Money said the Top rapper got full of himself after fame hit. Gee Money was gunned down the following month.
"In the days prior to Burton's death, both Burton and Gaulden (NBA Youngboy) made several social media posts about one another, which further exacerbated tensions between the two rival rap music groups," reads the warrant. "When Burton was killed, members of the NBA group were immediately developed as suspects due to … the ongoing rap music feud."
NBA hasn't commented on the indictment yet. In related news, the feds are now investigating a 2019 fatal shooting that the rapper was involved in at Rolling Loud in Miami.
