Mystikal's New Record Deal Could Get Him Out Of Jail

by HHL JT

Mystikal  has been locked up and awaiting trial since being indicted on one count of first-degree rape and one count of second-degree kidnapping in 2017.

His new record deal may get him out of jail.

Mystikal bail is set at $3 million, a price he's been unable to pay. However, he just signed a record deal for his next three albums.

Mystikal's attorney Joel Pearce says that his advance on the deal -- plus money friends and family have been raising --may be enough for him to post bail.

Pearce has also said his client is innocent.

"I don’t think that anyone should be made to stand trial for number one, something they did not do. And number two, something that’s caught up in this political movement, the #MeToo movement," Pearce said. "Michael is not guilty of anything."

Mystikal was one of three men charged in connection with a sexual assault in a Shreveport, Louisiana casino which took place in October of 2016.

The 48-year old does have a history with sex crimes, having served almost seven years for sexual battery and extortion charges.
