Today was a big day for rappers finally making bail.
Mystikal joined 21 Savage as a free man after he was able to put up a $3 million bond on charges of kidnapping and rape.
The 48-year old had been locked up for 18 months as one of three men charged in connection with a sexual assault in a Shreveport, Louisiana casino which took place in October of 2016.
He had just signed a record deal for his next three albums. His advance, plus money friends and family have been raising, was enough for him to post bail.
His attorney Joel Pearce is confident his client will prevail when he goes to trial in May.
"Based on all of the evidence we have, we strongly believe that an amicable resolution is not only possible but probable as an outcome in this case and that Michael Tyler will never be made to return to jail for a crime he didn't commit."
The 48-year old does have a history with sex crimes, having served almost seven years for sexual battery and extortion.
