2Pac started his career with Digital Underground, who shared a tour manager with NWA. So Pac knew the Ruthless Records crew, including Eazy E.
According to Digital Underground member Money B, a young Pac tried to do too much during an elevator altercation between Eazy and Death Row rep Warren G.
"We was in the elevator and then -- I think it was Warren G or somebody. But him and Eazy had some words but we were with Above The Law getting ready to go perform the song we did with them. And then it was some words back and forth and cats was about to pull out guns. But you know. It worked out. I'm still here," Money said.
Money added that Pac was acting extra during the altercation.
"From my perspective, it was an Eazy-E Death Row beef and Pac was acting as if he wanted to interject himself into that situation and I'm like, 'We need to stay out of that because we don't nothing about what's going on,'" he explained. "In my opinion, he was getting a little too close to it. Just because two cats are fighting, if you don't know what's happening and you know all the people, I didn't think we had any business getting involved."
That type of extra-ness may have ultimately led to Pac's death in Vegas.
