Miguel issued a new statement about a sexual assault case that surfaced earlier this year. In March, University of New Mexico student Xian Bass said that Miguel grabbed her breast and removed it from her shirt at a concert in Los Angeles. Bass eventually filed a police report, an investigation began but the singer was never arrested or charged.
Bass recently wrote about the alleged incident on Instagram and also spoke about it in a separate video.
In the second clip, the woman explained that upon meeting Miguel, she told him that she made herself climax to his song "Adorn."
After those posts, Miguel spoke to TMZ and said Bass' claims were completely false.
“I think we’re just in a time where just people are really looking for attention in the wrong ways," he said. “In this age I guess you just gotta be more aware of how things can be and how things can be spun.”
On Wednesday (Dec. 12), Spin ran a story about the woman's account, where she gave a few more details.
After the Spin piece ran, Miguel issued a statement through his publicist and doubled down on his initial denial.“He ripped it out of my shirt,” she said. “To just grab it like that is an act of ownership… It had nothing to do with how I looked or what I wore. It had to do with power.”
What do you think about the woman’s accusation and Miguel’s denial?“I felt I had already addressed how bizarre and twisted this accusation was when I was asked about it in March," the statement read. "Her story of what transpired is not accurate and the accusation is unfair and unwarranted.”
