Method Man Beaks Down How Wu Tang Slapped Joe Budden Silly For Talking Trash

by HHL JT

Back in 2009, Joe Budden got smacked by Raekwon's goon.  Then Joe notoriously showed up on what was then called a Vlog with ice on his face and discussed what had happened.

The smack was actually on behalf of Method Man, as Budden had disparaged Meth's place on Vibe’s list of all-time rappers.

In a new interview with Math Hoffa, Meth explained that Budden saying he was a better rapper than him back in 09 wasn't the problem.  The problem arose when Joe wouldn't leave it alone. [Jump to 3:30]

"N*ggas think I had a problem with Joe Budden saying he's better than me.  I ain't got no problem, you supposed to feel that way.  My problem was everything after that.  I'm like Joe, 'I don't f*ck with nobody, leave me alone.' This is me being my introverted self."

Meth actually pulled Joe aside before he got smacked.  He told Budden that he thought Joe was really talented and he didn't need to create beef to make his way in the game.  But Budden didn't listen to his elder.  So when Raekwon caught Joe out West, he taught him a lesson.

"They were in Cali I believe.  I wasn't there.  They walked in their dressing which wasn't locked and somebody got smacked in the motherf*cking face.  He got smacked. He didn't get punched.  But the n*gga who hit him hands are so big.  Like, he do this.  We put hands on n*ggas.  It looked worse than it really was.  He just got smacked.  And, if anything, he already got a warning shot when I told him, hey look n*gga just chill out.  Stop it.  You a talented motherf*cker you don't need to go that route."

We're not really sure Budden learned the lesson that Wu-Tang had given him.
