Melle Mel Says Nicki Minaj Shouldn't Be Above Rakim On Billboards' Top Rappers List

Rap pioneer Melle Mel hates Billboard and Vibes' top 50 rappers list, plain and simple.

Proof is him blasting the decision to place Eminem number five, and Lil Wayne number seven, which he spoke about with the Art of Dialogue.

The way Mel sees it, Em was named top five just because he's white, an opinion that people like 50 Cent called ridiculous

In that same interview, Mel said it's wrong to place Nicki Minaj higher than Rakim on the list since The Pinkprint rapper was named tenth, and Ra number thirteenth.

“You know that’s some bullsh*t," Mel opined. "And I actually like Nicki Minaj, but you know that’s some bullsh*t ...  I’m coming from how the game changed and how the culture changed ... I’m not coming from who I like rapping because I don’t like the way nobody rap … I don’t got nobody in my head like that except the Most High.”

“Nick Minaj being [above Rakim], that’s blasphemy," the veteran rapper continued. "I actually like Nicki Minaj. She can write. Decent looking chick. But even if she was better than Rakim, you don’t put her over no Rakim. What kind of sh*t is that?”

Should Nicki be placed over the guy many call the greatest to ever do it?
