Master P almost made the NBA
He believes he would have if not for his musical history.
He was asked why he never made an NBA regular season roster during his stop on Math Hoffa's show.
"The politics. I was ahead of time. Every NBA game I played in, I did something. I was the last cut with the Toronto Raptors and the last cut with the Charlotte Hornets. Everybody that's the last cut they end up calling them back. I know I should have been on this team. They know I should have been on this team. But my music stopped it. If that would have been this time, I'd been a superstar in the NBA," P said.
According to P, Bob Bass, the Hornets owner at the time, listened to his album and thought it was "filth."
"Sometimes your past catches up with you,' P said. "This was one of those times."
Would he have been a "superstar" if not for his dirty lyrics?
