Things were beginning to seem better between Lil Wayne and Birdman.
"Father and son" hung out on New Years, and then they reunited on the Mannie Fresh track 'Hate,' which also featured Juvenile.
According to Mannie, that doesn't mean all is good between Baby and Weezy. He explained to Genius how the song came together.
By sheer coincidence, I wind up bumping into Baby and I was like, “Dude, I would love if you introed this song.” He was like, “Send it to me, it’s done.” I can see how paperwork and foolishness can destroy something. Everything is not resolved with him and Wayne, but I overcame it by saying to them, “We can resolve all that behind the curtain, but for now, let’s make music for the people.” When it all started coming together, the brotherly love came out. We did the song, then, “I wish you the best, we should do it more often.”Mannie went on to say that he has three to five other songs with Wayne and Juvenile. The producer has also talked to Turk about the possibility of a Hot Boys reunion, and has verses from B.G., who in 2012 was sentenced to 14 years in prison for gun possession and witness tampering.
"The hard part is convincing them to do the whole [Hot Boys] album," Mannie explained.
