In an interview with Vlad TV, Omarion said he was briefly signed to Young Money in 2009, but left the label because Lil Wayne and Mack Maine wouldn't pay him his advance.
"So I signed a deal with Young Money, and it was an exciting thing. Basically, long story short, what happened was when I signed my deal I was supposed to get my advance. And the lawyers were talking, and basically, upon signing you're supposed to get the advance in a specific time. Within that time, my check didn't come. That raised a lot of questions for me. What kind of business was being done? So, when my check didn't come, I said I'm out. Me and Wayne actually got into it about that. We had a back-and-forth conversation. Me, him and Mack Maine."
Although Maine didn't address the whole not-paying-Omarion part of the equation, he did just confirm Omarion was signed to YM for a sec and Tweeted about some of the fallout from him leaving.
10 years since “Bedrock” dropped? Wowwwww Crazy story I don’t think has ever been told the original version was a song called “Way She Walk” with Omarion on the hook. We signed Omarion to YM for like a week and that’s another story

So then we put a APB out for a hook because we new the track was a smash. Neyo submitted one that was dope, one more R&B cat and Lloyd actually pulled up and recorded “Bedrock.” The rest is history! Shoutout Kane Beatz! #Happy10thBedrock

Omarion version? His version was dope would’ve still been a hit! I still remember it word for word... 10 years later! https://t.co/kdwhbybSfk

And correction I’m like 75% we would’ve named it “Girl You Know!” But anyway that was one of the best times I had on a video set! The genuine comradery and family vibe could never be imitated! I’m done ranting.. #MULA4Life✌🏾
