Rick Ross let his feelings about Birdman known in his 2015 single 'Color Money'.
And they weren't good feelings.
He explained the track back then in a Breakfast Club interview, saying his ill will had to do with the break between Wayne and Baby.
'Me idolizing Birdman at a time," Ross said. "Me looking up to Lil Wayne. Wayne being the first artist to make so many feats—not just as an artist but an artist coming from the South. That’s something that I took personal. So for me to see the way things are transpiring I can’t respect that. And I don’t respect that.”The Bawse drops his ninth album Rather You Than Me on March 17, and he tells Billboard that there's a track on it in which he takes aim at a former idol.
“I’ve got a record titled ‘Idols Become Rivals’ and it’s basically me writing a letter to someone in the game that I looked up to damn near the most and I hate what things have come to,” explained Ross during the conversation. “I’m just really ready for these records to get into the streets so that people can hear the excitement in my voice and the music.”From Ross's language, he could be taking shots at Baby or making some kind of peace offering.
