Lonzo and LaVar Ball put an end to the notorious Big Baller Brand sporting goods line earlier this year when they learned the family friend who co-owned the brand with them was robbing them blind.
That could be the best thing that's ever happened to Lonzo's career. In a new interview with his Pelicans teammate Josh Hart, he revealed how terrible his $495 signature “ZO2 Prime” were.
According to Lonzo, the shoes were so poorly made they would explode every quarter.

“‘Cause they were my shoe. I had to debut them,” Ball told Hart. “We went so far with it. I’m like, ‘Cool, I can get a quarter in, but that’s it. We gotta switch them every quarter.’ And it’s crazy because right when I’d switch my shoes, and then all of a sudden magically I got good again.”
During his time with the Lakers, the team asked Ball if he thought his signature shoes were holding him back. He said he lied and told them they weren't because he wanted to protect his family's brand.
