On the Bobby Tarantino II track "Wassup", Logic laid out the baseline of his new deal with Def Jam.
"I just updated my old deal,” he raps. “Told Def Jam no less than 20 mill…and they cut that shit!”
He got more specific with his numbers in an interview with Zane Lowe.
“When I first signed my deal, the advance was like 200 grand,” he explains. “So going from Section 8 and food stamps and welfare to 200 grand was life-changing, but the life change I’m talking about is the $30 million-dollar deal I just signed. That shit freaked me out. I felt like a target.”
But there are now some doubts about Logic's figures.
Sources tell TMZ the rapper's contract was restructured to get him more cash. But it wasn't a $30 million or even $20 million deal.
The gossip site suggested Logic was just trolling with the figures, or perhaps it just fit in "Wassup's" rhyme scheme.
They've reached out to Def Jam, but haven't gotten a response.
