Lizzo Responds To Lawsuit & Sexual Harassment Claims From Her Ex-Dancers

by Daryl Nelson

Lizzo is currently facing a lawsuit from three of her former dancers, and criticism from filmmaker Sophia Nahli Allison.

According to the singer's ex-dancers, they were weight-shamed, forced to be in a sex show, and wrongfully terminated.

So, they're suing Lizzo for sexual harassment, failure to prevent and/or remedy sexual harassment, and failure to prevent and/or remedy religious harassment.

There's an assault claim as well, and two of the dancers are suing for disability discrimination.

Allison said she was hired to film Lizzo for a documentary in 2019 and walked away due to the pop star being "arrogant, self-centered, and unkind."

"These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional," she wrote. "As an artist I have always been very passionate about what I do. I take my music and my performances seriously because at the end of the day I only want to put out the best art that represents me and my fans."

"With passion comes hard work and high standards," Lizzo continued. "Sometimes I have to make hard decisions but it's never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren't valued as an important part of the team ... I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days."

Do you think Lizzo's rep is damaged for good?
