There's been a lot of drama over DaniLeigh's song "Yellow Bone" since it dropped last week. The cut celebrates the singer's light skin tone, and many accused her of being a colorist.
At first, DaniLeigh was defensive after the backlash, then she apologized. But actress LisaRaye doesn't think there's anything wrong with the song.
"I've heard women and men talk about what they have because I guess, and Syleena [Johnson] you can attest to this, you guys start inward with what you all sing about," said LisaRaye on the Cocktails with Queens podcast. "So for her to celebrate her skin, I don't think that there's anything wrong with that. I just think that it's because it's Black Lives Matter. Is it that Black Lives Matter because we talking about dark skin Black Lives Matter or light-skin and cappuccino and espresso and all of that matters?"
What do you think about LisaRaye's comments?
