Lil Yachty came into his debut album Teenage Emotions with all the hype and a Sprite commercial.

He even tried to gin things up more by going with a provocative album cover that showed, among other things, two guys kissing.

But something just didn't work. Teenage Emotions limped out of the gate in May of 2017, moving only 44,000 sales plus streaming in its first week.

Boat addressed that disappointment in a new Interview article.

"When I first released my Teenage Emotions album I thought that shit was fire, as you should," he said. "Then the sales came back and it did 44,000 first week and I was devastated and so confused, I worked so hard. But I disconnected with my fans because I tried to do this other stuff, you know? These records were good but they weren’t what I started with."

Yachty added that he's working hard on his sophomore album  Lil Boat 2.

Today on IG Live he said Lil Boat 2 is done. Do you think it will sell better or has Boat's ship sailed?
