Lil Yachty's debut album Teenage Emotions was not a hit.
The project did 43K sales plus streaming in its first week, with only 18K of those being traditional album sales.
That's in contrast to the 116K Bryson Tiller's True To Self debuted with this week, and also trails older albums from Drake (More Life) and Kendrick Lamar (DAMN.) and a Beatles reissue of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Lil Yachty addressed the disappointing numbers in an IG post this afternoon, arguing Teenage Emotions didn't do what it was supposed to do because most people don't understand him.
