Lil Wayne has often talked about shooting himself in 1994 at 12 years old but he recently admitted that it was a suicide attempt and not an accident.

“When I was 12 years old, the school year was kinda ending," said Wayne on Uncomfortable Conversations with Emmanuel Acho.  "[The school] was giving us half days on a Thursday and a Friday but what I would do was, just telling moms that I only had half a day on one of those days. So therefore I stayed out the rest of the whole day like it was a full day."

Weezy also explained The Notorious B.I.G.'s "One More Chance" came on moments after he shot himself.

“And Biggie was already gone or something. So I was looking, I was like, ‘You know what?’ Start thinking I had to get myself mad and noticed that I didn’t have to. that’s what scared me. How I knew I had a mental health problem was when I pulled the trigger.”

Wayne was then brought to the hospital by an off-duty cop he calls “Uncle Bob" and was saved.
