Lil Wayne Reveals How Much He was Paid For His Mixtapes

Lil Wayne said a lot of notable things during his Drink Champs interview last week.

Among them, was his revelation that's he has never made any money off of his many mixtapes.

"I've never been paid for a mixtape," Lil Wayne said. "I refuse.  I've never been paid for none of them. It's an outlet for me to get the music I want out. "

Wayne is arguably the greatest mixtape artist of all time.

Although he's never profited directly from those tapes, it's worked out for him in other ways.

Wayne's studio album Funeral is his fifth number one album and his 12th top 10 effort.
