Lil Wayne is taking the Floyd Mayweather approach to the uproar about the now notorious (and short-lived) Gucci "blackface sweater."
He showed up to a Rolling Loud Miami pre-party dressed head to toe in Gucci.
Weezy's all-out endorsement of the fashion house is sure to piss off 50 Cent, who burned his Gucci clothes after learning about the sweater, and T.I., who went after Mayweather when Money downplayed the controversy and said he didn't support a boycott.
Although it is entirely possible Tunechi just didn't know about all of the Gucci related fuss. He is the guy who said this to the New York Times when asked about some of the younger rappers in the game a few years back.
NYT: Are there rappers in the new school that are motivating you? Are you keeping up with Yachty, Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Kodak? LW: I swear to God I didn’t know you were saying people’s names just now, so that should probably answer that question. I just do my own thing.
Wayne also had no idea who the late XXXTentacion was when they put him on Carter V.
Regardless, there may be another T.I. lecture coming.
