Lil Wayne Explains Why He Won't Perform 'Mona Lisa,' Which Features Kendrick Lamar

by Daryl Nelson

Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar teamed up for Wayne's 2018 song "Mona Lisa," but the Young Money boss doesn't perform it on stage.

While some may think that has to do with Kendrick's mudslinging beef with Drake, who Wayne discovered and signed, that's not the case.

It's just that at a lengthy 5-minutes and 24 seconds, and the song having a whole bunch of lyrics, it's just too difficult for Wayne to perform.

He talked about the song when a fan asked him to perform it at one of his recent shows.

"This is the second time I seen this within my last three shows," he told the crowd. "Somebody had a sign that said to do 'Mona Lisa.' I’m not sure if that means you, if y’all said y’all real Lil Wayne fans. So if you real Lil Wayne fans, do you know I don’t know the lyrics to my sh*t ... Do you know how hard that f*cking song is, girl? I don’t like to rap the words, but I’m going to learn that sh*t. I’m going to learn it. I’m going to learn. I got you."

How do you think Drake would feel if Wayne performed "Mona Lisa" with Kendrick?
