AI technology has already proven to be disruptive in music since it can mimic artists' voices pretty darn well.
Lil Durk said AI can never duplicate the real thing. Lil Wayne recently co-singed that during a chat with Billboard.
"Someone asked me about [AI] recently,” he said. “And they were trying to tell me that AI could make a voice that sounds just like me. But it’s not me because I’m amazing. I’m like, is this AI thing going to be amazing too? Because I am naturally, organically amazing. I’m one of a kind. So actually, I would love to see that thing try to duplicate this motherf*cker."
Another person who's shot down the use of AI in music is Jay-Z's longtime engineer Young Guru, who criticized Timbaland for using it.
Do you think AI will really take over music in the future, or will fans always prefer the real thing?
