Lil Wayne was supposed to play a show Sunday night in Minneapolis at the club The Venue.
But Wayne ended up cancelling after a dispute with the door over his entourage. According to a statement by The Venue, Weezy was already in the club when some members of his crew refused to go through security procedures, which include a pat-down, metal detection and ID check.
Instead of telling them to submit to the measures, or playing the show without them in attendance, Wayne opted to cancel the performance.
The Venue states that their security procedures are typical for clubs around the country, and that all performers are informed of them before they arrive.
"The safety of its patrons, its performers, and its staff members is and continues to be the number one priority for The Venue," the club's management said in a statement. "While The Venue regrets the artist's decision not to perform, The Venue is not willing to bypass its security standards and jeopardize the safety of its patrons, performers, or staff members."The club is in the process of issuing refunds to concert goers. So far no statement from Wayne, who's dropping the Free Weezy Album on July 4
