Lil Nas X recently spoke with People and said he isn't bothered by the heavy criticism that he receives.
The 22-year-old received plenty of backlash after dropping the video to his song "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)," with rappers Joyner Lucas and Sada Baby criticizing him as well.
But Nas X says he isn't phased by people's opinions, because he knows the rules of the Internet.
"I guess it's because I kind of grew up on the Internet and I've been through this before, and I know to take everything with a grain of salt,"he explained. "So it's rare that it'll actually get to me, where I'm like, 'Oh, that hurts.'"
The rapper also said he's proud of "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" and believes it has inspired many.
"I was happy that a lot of people seeing this growing up are going to remember it for the rest of their lives, and they're going to feel more confident in themselves," he stated.
Do you think Nas X is being truthful about not being bothered by the criticism?
