Lil Nas X Explains Why Black Out Tuesday Is a Bad Idea

by HHL JT

Many a social media page and website have gone black this Tuesday to show solidarity with the George Floyd protests.

Count Lil Nas X among those who don't think it's a good idea.

i just really think this is the time to push as hard as ever. i don’t think the movement has ever been this powerful. we don’t need to slow it down by posting nothing. we need to spread info and be as loud as ever. https://t.co/9nvy3HodjD

not tryna be announcing but what if we posted donation and petitions links on instagram all at the same time instead of pitch black images.

"I  know y’all mean well but... bro saying stop posting for a day is the worst idea ever," Lil typed. "i just really think this is the time to push as hard as ever. i don’t think the movement has ever been this powerful. we don’t need to slow it down by posting nothing. we need to spread info and be as loud as ever. Meek Mill and others also have questions.

Who started this black out challenge and what is the end result? I just posted it but I wanna know!

Black Out Tuesday posts are ineffective. People can't see useful content about the Black Lives Matter protests when they click the hashtag on instagram because of the over flow of blank black pictures. pic.twitter.com/x3SQiTwWX6

this is the 4th completely different flyer i’ve seen for it. this is the only one without the saying go completely silent for a day in solidarity. the messages are mixed across the board and i really hope it doesn’t have a negative effect. https://t.co/AWnWa3C8gb
