Lil Durk's Lawyers Push Back On Claim That Durk Rapped About Murder-For Hire

by Daryl Nelson

Lil Durk is fighting for his life after being accused of hiring people from his OTF label to kill Quando Rondo. But the shooters ended up missing Rondo and killed his cousin Saviay’a "Lul Pab" Robinson instead.

According to prosecutors, Durk rapped about Robinson's death in the 2022 song "Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy," featuring Babyface Ray.

"Told me they got an addy  / Got location / Green light, go, go  / Look on the news and see your son / You screamin', 'No, no,'" raps Durk.

But his lawyers say prosecutors are reaching with their claim that those lyrics are about Robinson.

"When you see an artist's rap lyrics quoted as 'evidence' against them, it is a glaring indication that there is no real evidence against that person," wrote Durk's legal team in an email to Newsweek. "The claims in the indictment against Mr. Banks are false and lacking in the most basic due diligence ... He is looking forward to fighting against these false allegations in court."

Durk, who could get life in prison if convicted, already pleaded not guilty to the charges.
