There's a lot of cap in the rap game.
And things are never less truthy than when a rapper claims his rate for features.
Part of that issue is anyone can say they charge anything. But that doesn't mean anyone pays it.
Lil Durk addressed all that during his interview with the Full Send Podcast, explaining he charges 350K for a feature if he doesn't know you [jump to 35 minutes.]
“If I don’t know you. I ain’t gonna lie, I gotta go $350,000,” Durk explained. “I got receipts. That's the thing. Now listen, you gotta have receipts. ‘Cause somebody could come up here just to lie, to boost they sales.”
He was then asked who paid him 350K
“I don’t know if I could do that, though, but I got receipts, though."
He also said he doesn't charge his friends for features. But if he's not tight with you, he's going to make your label pay.
In the last year or so, Durk has been featured in tracks by Drake, Pooh Siesty, French Montana, Bia, Money Mu, IGIR Woodie, Yung Fume, Ne-Yo, Westside Tut, Nechie, Kevo Muney, Coi Leray, Chris Brown, Fredo Bang, Tee Grizzly, Tay B, Icewear Vezzo, Kuttem Reese, DJ Khaled, Brh Brh, A Boogie, Meek Mill, H.E.R., FeZe Kaysan, Nardo Wick, Joyner Lucas, 50 Cent, Gucci Mane and Lucky Daye.
So unless most of them are Durk's friends he's really rich. (Or really cap.)
