Lil Durk Is Changing Up the Way he Talks About the Dead

Lil Durk has long had at least one of his feet in the streets.

He's trying to get away from that.

In his interview with Rolling Stone, Durk explained that he is changing things up to ensure he is around to make more money.

“Even if you do 99 percent of sh*t right, you still got 1 percent of the demons with you,” Durk explained. “You get angry fast, and one reply can f*ck up a billion dollars. That’s why I’m not saying names no more [in my music]. I ain’t speaking on the dead no more — none of that. I’m not chasing death no more,” he continued. “I’m chasing a billion dollars. I want our kids to grow up safe and sound, to be able to have fun, to have a real life.”

Durk got good news last month when Fulton County, Georgia dropped the attempted murder charge against him for allegedly shooting a man outside of the Varsity restaurant in Atlanta in February of 2019.

While eyewitnesses and surveillance video tied Durk to the crime,  prosecutors came to conclude that it was the late King Von who did the crime.

“The office has declined to indict Durk Banks, a.k.a. ‘Lil Durk’ for the February 5, 2019 incident because insufficient evidence exists to prove his guilt beyond reasonable doubt of a trial," Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis's rep Jeff DiSantis told the press. "If co-defendant Dayvon Bennett, a.k.a. ‘King Von,’ had not died in 2020, he would have been indicted for this incident. As stated in the motion declining to indict Mr. Banks, the Atlanta Police Department had evidence to establish probable cause to arrest him.”

With his new attitude, maybe Durk can make this gift from his late homie count.
