If you go by streams, Lil Baby was the biggest artist of 2020.
Unfortunately, streams don't pay like old fashion sales do.
Baby has been trying to make up for that by charging 100K for a feature. (Which he admits nobody has wanted to pay.) He's also upped his booking price to 400K a show.
Unfortunately, COVID has prevented him from collecting any of that. He broke the situation down on The Breakfast Club.
"I ain't really stressed too bad about it 'cause I save more money, you know what I'm saying? Whatever I get for a show now is higher than I ever would've got before corona. I can't ponder on $400K, $500K a show 'cause I ain't never really got that anyway, he said, and then confirmed he's officially charging 400K a show.
“Since I started rapping ... I been booked two [or] three times a weekend. I only did one show this year, and it’s the end of the year. A hundred shows maybe at least in a year, so it’s like a whole year, I did one show,” Lil Baby added.
100 shows a year would be $40 million. If anyone actually booked him for 400K a show.
Do you think he'll get that in the post-vaccine world?
