Lebron Says Kyrie Irving Is The Cavs Floor General

Although Lebron James doesn't technically play point guard, he's been running offensives for just about all of his 11-year NBA career, and has the assists numbers to show for it.

Now in his second tour of duty in Cleveland, the 29-year old is making it clear that point guard Kyrie Irving, who is entering into his fourth season, is going to be the Cavs floor general

"I'll probably handle the ball a little bit, but this is Kyrie's show," James said after the team's first practice of training camp this weekend. "He's our point guard. He's our floor general, and we need him to put us in position to succeed offensively. He has to demand that and command that from us with him handling the ball."

Along with Kevin Love, James and Irving make up a "Big Three" that many think can be even better than the partnership James formed with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami.

It took that trio about a year before they started really clicking, and there will also likely be an adjustment period between James, Love and Irving. Especially since they will also be implementing the innovative offensive system new head coach David Blatt has brought over from Israel.

Do you think Lebron's statements about Irving being the "floor general" is simply his way of building up a young player who has a history of being a bit mentally fragile? Or do you think James genuinely wants to become more of an off-the-ball force?
