A couple of weeks ago, Lonzo Ball to the Los Angeles Lakers seemed like a sure thing.
But now there's chatter that LA is going to pass on the hometown product with the 2 pick in the draft and go with somebody else.
Lonzo will get his chance to prove his worth when he works out for the Lakers this week.
When he does, his outspoken dad LaVar won't be welcome in the facility.
"I think the workout is something that we'll keep the doors closed on, but the dinner, I think he would definitely make the dinner more entertaining. He's definitely welcomed to join us for that one," Lakers coach Luke Walton said of LaVar on Jim Rome's radio show.Walton also pushed back on the notion that LaVar's antics would impact their assessment of Lonzo.
"We're in the NBA, to me, that's not an issue. Parents are always gonna have their opinions. They're gonna be outspoken at times. As you know, Jim, I have a very outspoken father [Bill Walton] myself. It doesn't bother me. If we were to draft him, we're gonna coach him," Walton explained. "We'll not let outside things like that influence us on whether or not we pick the kid."The draft is on June 22. Do you see Lonzo ending up a Laker?
