On Saturday night, Chicago rapper KTS Dre was released from Cook County jail, having been locked up since last month for parole violation.
He didn't even make it out of the shadow of the jail when he was 64 times, throughout his head and body. The unknown gunman emerged from two cars and began firing at KTS. 59 shell casings were found on the ground. KTS was pronounced dead at the hospital
Two women, a 60-year-old who had come to meet KTS (reportedly his mother) and a bystander, were also hit. Their injuries aren't life-threatening.
“It appears Sylvester was the intended target while (the women) were inadvertently struck,” the police report states. “[Sylvester had] just been released from custody and was fitted for electronic monitoring as a condition of his bail.”
KTS Dre was 31. RIP.
