Killer Mike weighed in on the Super Bowl controversy during a new interview.
So far people like Travis Scott, Jermaine Dupri, Maroon 5 and Big Boi are scheduled to perform during the halftime show, and they've all received backlash. That's because a lot of folks believe the NFL has locked out Colin Kaepernick for kneeling during the national anthem.
But Mike said having the Super Bowl in Atlanta is a big win for the black community, and feels the economic opportunities it provides is another way to achieve social justice.
"Atlanta is an African American city," he said. "There's tons of jobs that are coming for the Super Bowl, tons of development coming, there's tons of economic opportunity that's come. So at the end of the day, if by any means necessary is true, then I can't complain. There are many paths to freedom."
Do you agree with Mike?
