Kid Cudi checked himself into rehab for suicidal thoughts and depression last month. He's out now, and yesterday he sent a letter to everyone who's supported him.
"Travis Scott, Pete Davidson, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, Willow Smith, Jaden Smith, Plain Pat, Mike Dean, Josh Mond, Virgil Abloh, Victoria Justice, Pete Wents, Monica," wrote Cudi on Facebook. He also thanked a lot other people too. "Thank you for opening your hearts and extending your lives and support during a troubling time. I wanted to let ya'll know it meant the world to me. I have nothing but love for you. Words can't really express how much it made my heart glow. I look forward to better days."It appears the Ohio native is doing much better these days, playing his first show after leaving treatment last week at ComplexCon. Then on Saturday he joined Kanye West on stage during Ye's controversial Sacramento show.
Meanwhile, it seems that Cudi has sparked a lot of conversation in Hip Hop about mental health since going to rehab.
For example, Saturday Night Live's Pete Davidson stopped by The Breakfast Club last month and said the Ohio rhymer saved his life. For those who don't know, Davidson's father died during the Sept. 11 attacks.
"I truly believe if Man on the Moon didn't come out I wouldn't be here," he said.Miami rapper Bizzy Crook also said Cudi helped him deal with depression, and he probably would have killed himself if it wasn't for his music.
"Cudi was one of the first guys that made [me feel] like 'Oh snap, he's depressed too.' One of the first guys to openly make music about it," he said. You can read Cudi's full thank you letter below, and hopefully he'll continue to make progress and feel better.
