Kevin Durant Talks Raptors Fans Cheering His Injury & Golden State's Medical Staff

by Daryl Nelson

Kevin Durant finally opened up about the Toronto Raptors fans cheering when he went down with an Achilles injury in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. He also explained his decision behind leaving the Golden State Warriors to join the Brooklyn Nets and addressed those who blame the Warriors for his injury

"If I was leaving the Warriors, it was always going to be for the Nets," KD told Yahoo Sports. "They got the pieces and a creative front office. I just like what they were building."

He then addressed the rumor that Golden State forced him to play in Game 5 when he was already injured from the previous series against the Houston Rockets.

"I heard the Warriors pressured me into getting back," said Durant. "Nobody never said a word to me during rehab as I was coming back. It was only me and [director of sports medicine and performance] Rick [Celebrini] working out every day. Right when the series started, I targeted Game 5. Hell, nah. It just happened. It’s basketball. Sh*t happens. Nobody was responsible for it. It was just the game. We just need to move on from that sh*t, because I'm going to be back playing."

As for the Raptors fans cheering his Achilles injury, Durant said he didn't hear it but he still dissed them anyway.

"It will probably be the last time they will be in the Finals," he predicted
