Kendrick Lamar is having himself a pretty good week, as his new Isley Brother sampling single "i" has been all over the place, logging more than two million SoundCloud plays in its first 24 hours of release. He's been saying he hopes to have his new album -- the follow up to the breakout smash Good Kid Maad City -- out sometime "before 2015."
Lamar may also be a part of an another much anticipated album set to drop soon. During an interview with Power 106 Wednesday, Kendrick was asked if he was going to be featured on Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V, which has an October 28 release date.
"Can I say that? Am I on Tha Carter V? I wouldn't know ... I don’t wanna say," was how he coyly responded.
So far, Drake has been the only guest artist officially announced as a Carter V contributor. But it sounds to us like Kendrick definitely laid down some verses for Weezy, and now it's just a question of making the final cut. Given the success of "i" and Lamar's general stature, we're thinking we'll surely be hearing K-dot on the album.
You can watch Lamar respond to the question about Tha Carter 5 below. As you will see, the Power 106 guys are also pretty convinced he'll make the cut.
