It's got to be hard for people who are in a group with someone who's considered the star.
Think Rae Sremmurd since Swae Lee is usually considered the frontman. Or before that, when people paid more attention to Lauryn Hill than her Fugees brethren.
Kelly Rowland spent much of her career in Destiny's Child with Beyoncé, arguably the biggest pop star of our day.
Rowland, who recently broke down how she likes to have sex, spoke about Bey on the last episode of The Voice Australia, after her mentee Chris Sebastian talked about always being compared to his older brother.
"I know this feeling," said Rowland. "Can you imagine what it’s like being in a group with Beyoncé? I would just torture myself in my head. Like, I can’t wear this dress because they’re going to say it’s like Bey. Or, I can’t have a song like that because it sounds too much like Bey. They’re gonna compare anyways."
"I would be lying if I said no, it’s never bothered me. That’s bull," she added. "There was a whole decade, if I am being completely honest, a decade, where it was like the elephant in the room. It was the thing that would constantly be on my shoulder."
Can you relate to Rowland's problem in any way?
