Kanye West moved to terminate his deal with Gap in September of 2022.
If he hadn't, Gap would have surely tried to terminate the deal themselves after the notorious Hitler-praising meltdown Ye was about to go through -- which cost him his deal with Adidas and much of his respectability.
So you would think Gap would just be happy to no longer be in the Ye business.
But that's not what's going on. Instead, they are suing Kanye for $2 million because he modified commercial space in Los Angeles which Gap had rented for his clothing line.
Their suit comes after the owners of the space sued Gap.
But Gap argues the deal had a provision stating Gap would not be held liable for any claims brought due to Kanye's acts and that they had made clear to Ye that he couldn't modify the space.
So they are trying to pass the lawsuit on to him.
