Kanye West Says #MeToo Has Society Living In Fear

Kanye West is not a big fan of the way the #MeToo movement has been adjudicated.

Pitchfork got a hold of Ye's upcoming interview with David Letterman, which will be released on Netflix May 31. During their chat, Kanye says when it comes to public accusations of sexual misconduct he wishes the court of public opinion would be more like the court of law.

Kanye talked about the fear held by men in powerful positions following the #MeToo movement. “We as a society are constantly in fear,” Kanye said. Dave responded, “Well you mention a general fear of the male side of this situation. I would submit that it’s not equal by any equation to the fear women feel being the other side of that.” The crowd then cheered.

“I’m definitely supportive of the women,” Kanye said. “What I’m saying is we’re not allowed to have any conversation. When you go to court, both sides can talk. This is a court of public opinion where when someone bombs first, the war is supposedly over.”

Do you agree with Ye?
