One of the things we learned in the great Sony hack is that the studio is considering Idris Elba as Daniel Craig's eventual James Bond replacement.
The thought of a black Bond ruffled some feathers, most prominently Rush Limbaugh who ranted on about 007 being "white and Scottish, period" on his radio show.
Kanye West, not surprisingly, has a different take on things. When asked if Elba should replace Craig when the incumbent Bond decides to hang up his tuxedo, West had this to say.
"I know Idris a little bit and he is a big talent," Ye told the British tabloid The Sun. "The movies he has been making are special, and when the role for James Bond comes up it needs to be his. James Bond is a role made for British actors and you won’t find a British actor who has the talent of Idris. To be honest you won’t find many anywhere who have his talent. Artists should be visionaries. A black James Bond would be visionary no doubt. Something that 30 years ago would have seemed crazy should now be something that is a real possibility."Amazingly, at no point in the interview did Kanye suggest he would make a great James Bond.
