Kanye West just did a long interview with Vanity Fair.
It was ostentatiously about his fashion career, but the glossy mag also asked him about his presidential ambitions -- which he declared during this year's VMAs -- and the music career that made him famous in the first place. Here are a few choice (non-consecutive) excerpts from the interview.
VF: I know we’re here to talk about the fashion, but people are just a little bit interested in the album [Swish]. It could be another year? 'Ye: I’m not sure. I’m not worried about the years. I’m worried about the life and the body of work that I can put out while I’m breathing... VF: Are you still thinking of running in 2020? 'Ye: Oh, definitely... And finally: VF: Is the album still called Swish? 'YE: It’s currently called Swish. I’m forgetting even what the last name of it was now.Judging from those answers, we won't see Swish (or whatever it ends up being called) for some time. Perhaps not until after he runs for the White House in 2020.
Or perhaps in this age of surprise releases that's exactly what 'Ye wants us to think.
