Hungarian composer Gabor Presser feels like he wasn't properly compensated for his sample on Kanye West's Yeezus track 'New Slaves.'
So he's suing 'Ye for $2.5 million.
Presser concedes that he informally cleared the sample from his song 'Gyöngyhajú lány' right before Yeezus dropped.
West had sent him a $10,000 check after he got in contact. But Presser claims that that was just an advance to quickly move the process forward -- since the album was already being promoted -- and that they agreed the final price would be settled at a later date.
However, such a negotiation never took place. Now Presser, who didn't cash the 10K check, wants to see Kanye in court because 'Ye "knowingly and intentionally misappropriated one of Pressor’s songs for New Slaves without a signed licensed agreement."
He's also never received any royalties on the song.
