In December, a jury found Jussie Smollet guilty of five of six counts of felony disorderly conduct for filing a false police report.
In 2019, Smollet concocted a bizarre tale in which he was attacked by two MAGA hat-wearing goons on a freezing inner-city Chicago night as he walked to get a late-night Subway sandwich. According to Smollett, the men yelled racist and homophobic slurs at him and attacked him with bleach and a noose.
It turns out it was all made up in an effort to make Smollett more sympathetic and boost his sagging career. In fact, Smollett was proven to have paid two Nigerian brothers to perpetuate the hoax. He even paid them in advance with a check.
Today, Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in county jail, 30 months of felony probation, which allows him to travel, 120K in restitutions and 25K in fines.
Smollett declared his innocence after being sentenced. He also said he wasn't suicidal and that if he dies in prison he didn't kill himself.
Before sentencing, the judge slammed Smollett for wasting the polices' time and being a hypocrite on social justice.
