The Feds and local Chicago police were searching Juice WRLD's luggage for contraband when the 21-year old suffered the seizure that ended up killing him, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The Feds had alerted the local authorities that the private plane Juice WRLD was in was carrying drugs and guns before it landed at Midway airport on a late-night flight from Van Nuys, California.
Juice, his girlfriend and ten other passengers had left the plane in Midway when a drug-sniffing dog made a “positive alert” for bags on two luggage carts. During the search that followed, Juice WRLD went into a seizure. The authorities gave him two doses of Narcan, an emergency treatment administered when an opioid overdose is suspected, and called an ambulance.
He woke up but was incoherent. He died an hour later at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois.
According to the Tribune, the search turned up 41 “vacuum-sealed” bags of marijuana, six bottles of prescription codeine cough syrup, two 9 mm pistols, a .40-caliber pistol, a high-capacity ammunition magazine, and metal-piercing bullets.
Juice's girlfriend told the authorities that the rapper/singer "takes Percocet and has a drug problem."
Juice bodyguards were charged with gun possession and released. Nobody has been charged for the drugs yet.
Update: TMZ says he may have eaten pills to hide them from the Feds and the pilot tipped the Feds off because he noticed guns on his plane.
We're told at some point between the plane landing and the feds conducting their search ... Juice was seen swallowing several Percocet pills in what people believed was an attempt to hide them. Our sources say the pills might've contributed to his death in a possible OD.
